Prepare your home for the best alarm system
After you have read our reviews and decided what the best alarm system for you is, you need to scope out your home and prep it for the big day! Installing your alarm system is not overly time consuming, but there are a few things you should do in order to properly prep for the DIY installation.
The first thing that we suggest doing is marking off where you want your sensors to go beforehand. At this point, you will have probably already purchased your system and will know the number of sensors which you will be getting in advance. Just take a pen and make a small dot as to where you want to place the alarm system. If you’ve purchased a do it yourself alarm, this will save you some time down the road.
We also suggest locking up or letting pets out for the 30-60 minutes it will take you to install the alarm system. The last thing you want is for a pet to chew up your freshly purchased alarm system out of curiosity. It seems like a no-brainer, but we wanted to cover all the bases for you all!
If you’re nervous, bring a friend along to help you out. We promise that the DIY alarm systems really are NOT hard to install, but a little help never hurt. If you find that you and your friend can’t figure something out, give the company a call. They will be sure to answer any questions you might have about where or how to install the sensors around your home. To be honest with you, we don’t think you’re even going to have that problem. The DIY alarm systems are easy to install and come with pretty specific details about what you should do. And realistically, you’re peeling off some sensors and sticking them to your wall. Figuring out best alarm system for you was the hard part!
