It decides if your alarm needs to be sounded or if it should contact the alarm system company if it thinks there is an intruder.

The master control panel is different than the keypad. The keypad is what you’ll be coming in contact with most often. This is where you’ll arm and disarm your alarm system. If the control panel is the brains of the operation, the the keypad is body. It’s where you direct your alarm system and is something that you’ll want to get familiar with down the road. It is how you will contact your alarm system company or the authorities if there is a problem while you are home. It is also where you will dictate your home automation, if you choose to do that.

The final part of the alarm system that we want to go over are the sensors. The sensors do all the dirty work in your home. They are the ones that sense danger or a problem if there is one. Once you arm the alarm system via the keypad, the sensors will let you and your alarm system company know if someone tries to illegally break into your home.
