ADT To Hire Aggressively in 2013

After its spinoff from Tyco International last year ADT is now a standalone company looking to grow. ADT is one of the largest alarm system companies in North America. ADT specializes in residential alarm systems as well as commercial alarm systems. They provide wireless alarm systems and hard wired alarm systems to customers around the world. The company has recently reported that they will be looking to hire even more people after hiring more than 1,200 new employees in the past year. Good news for those concerned about the economy and the slow job market.

ADT hopes to take advantage of the growing mobile phone market by recruiting employees on their mobile phones. They will also be looking to bring in new recruits with the idea that they will be long term employees in the business. It early career program will bring in college interns in hopes that they can learn as they grow and become valuable longtime employees. ADT will also be looking for new recruits on military bases.

After their spinoff from Tyco the company purchased a large facility in Aurora, CO which would bring nearly 1,000 jobs to the city. It’s unclear how many of these jobs wil be new, but nonetheless should bring a boost to the city’s economy and job market. In fact, ADT has already hired for positions in almost every department at their monitoring station and headquarters including a number of IT professionals to assist with the “break-up” of their residential and commercial alarm business in to separate entities.

Not only has the spinoff from Tyco allowed ADT to go after new employees but it has created a trove of new customers. That new business has also created new demand for employees in the sales department. ADT says the nearly fifty percent of new positions will be within the sales department.
