Do it Yourself or Professional
So, which one is better for you? There are definitely difference between the 2 kinds of alarm system. Not necessarily in the quality of the alarm system, but instead with the kind of installation. Do it yourself alarm systems are of equal quality as a professional installation.
The biggest difference is the the convenience factor. This can go either way for you though, it just depends on what you’re looking for. Do you want to be able to install your alarm system on your own time and not have to wait around for some guy to show up and install the alarm system? It’ll only take you 30-60 minutes. In addition, if you plan on moving, you can just pack up the alarm system and bring it to your next home.
Or… would you prefer to have someone else do it for you? You wont have to do it yourself, or figure out how to install it! The point is, it’s all about perspective. We prefer the DIY system since we feel it adds more flexibility for the resident. But, that’s not to say a quality professional installation is a bad thing.
We are pretty sure that no one knows the ins and outs of your home better than you. That’s the problem with someone telling you what you need to have. How many doors do you have? How many windows? You’re more than half way there already! It’s really not that difficult and a little common sense about ways to enter your home and you’ll know what you need in no time. The best companies will work with you before the alarm system even arrives in your home in order to figure out what is the best kind of system you need.
The other huge benefit we see to a DIY alarm system is that you wont have to wait around all day and then pay a professional to do something that you are also perfectly capable of doing. Why waste your money?
What we’re saying is, it is not that complicated and you should consider purchasing a DIY alarm system for yourself. We have reviewed some of the best DIY alarm systems out there. Be sure to check it out.
