The rise in use of social media with sites like Facebook has brought questions regarding its role in home security.  Status updates, check-ins, and pictures virtually tell everyone where you are at any given time.

All it takes is reading a post that says “Headed for a ten hour work day!” or “Leaving town for the week” allows people to know when you will be home and when you wont.  This activity has sparked burglars to check social media pages to determine when to break in to homes.
