Prepare Your Home for DIY Alarm System
If you’ve just recently purchased a new DIY alarm system, there are a few things you should do before you go to install it into your home. You want to scope out your home and do a small prep for the day that you decide to install it in order to make things flow a little smoother. Installing a DIY alarm system is not overly time consuming and should only take you and hour (or less!) to install.
The biggest thing you should do is mark off where you want your sensor to go. At this point in the game, you probably have already purchased the system and know just how many sensors you’ve bought. All you need to do is take a pen and make a small dot where you want to sensor to go in a few minutes. You’re going to end up peeling off a sticker on the back of the sensor and placing it on your wall. Nothing too crazy. But you want to make your the sensor is lined up properly and putting that little dot there will just speed up the process.
Before you go ahead and open up your DIY alarm system you’re going to want to put your pets in a separate room. The last thing you want happening is a curious puppy chewing on a newly purchased alarm system and sensor!
If you’re nervous, bring a friend along to help you with the install. Honestly, you’re probably not going to need it. But an extra set of eyes wont hurt. If you or your friend can’t figure something out give the alarm system company a call. They should be able to answer your questions quickly although, we really don’t foresee you having too many problems. The hardest part was reading all those alarm system reviews and picking the right one!
