Why We Strictly Recommend Monitored Alarm Systems
Monitored alarm systems are definitely the way to go if you’re thinking of getting an alarm system. The long term benefits are much better and significantly more practical than an alarm system that just makes a bunch of noise when there’s an intruder. A monitored alarm system is just more secure. Plain and simple. If there is ever a problem and your alarm system knows it (burglar, weather related, etc) your alarm system will contact your alarm system company in order to make a claim. If you’re home, you’ll most likely talk to someone from the alarm system company in order to confirm or deny the problem.
If you do not have a monitored alarm system, your alarm system may beep when there’s an intruder but no one is calling for help. If you’re not home, then no one will be notified. So then what’s the point of having the alarm system? You spent all that money on it! Might as well get a home alarm system that actually has a support network built right in.
The biggest negative to having a monitored alarm system is the monthly fee that you assume responsibility of. But we feel that there is a significant benefit to paying this. The first of which is that there are many options to choose from and you’ll pay a lower up front cost. You’ll also know that your home is always secure and that if there is a technical problem down the road, you’ve got someone to call about it. You can always count on your alarm system company to be there and protect you and there are a variety of ways that you can make up the monthly fee or at least minimize it.
Alarm systems with home automation can save money on the electric bill. In addition, homes with alarm systems are more likely to receive a discount on their homeowner’s insurance.
Hopefully this helps you decide if you want a monitored alarm system. Obviously, we think the answer is very clear: When choosing between a monitored alarm system and a non-monitored alarm system, you should choose the monitored alarm system
